Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up personality, explains how you can cook dishes that are restaurant quality at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell was employed for a time in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine tradition and its landscape. Additionally, she competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. While growing up in New York's upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. She pursued her love of the restaurant industry by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. When she was in Italy, Chef Burrell acquired an appreciation for and understanding of Italian cuisine. This had an enormous effect on the way she thinks about food.
